‘Anuja’ discusses her experiences in Northern Sri Lanka at the height of mass bombing and shelling in 2009.
Her husband was an LTTE cadre which would have put her and her son’s life at risk if the authorities found out.
She ran through the cross-fire with her son in her arms to escape the area, she then went to Vavunniya on a bus and then fled to India and eventually the UK by paying bribes.
She still doesn’t know if her husband is alive today…
